MINI-CAMP

FREE Mini-Camp will be held July 14th thru July 18th, John Carroll Elementary from 6:30pm – 8:30pm.

FIRST OFFICIAL PRACTICE

The first official practice will begin on Monday, July 21, 2014, John Carroll Elementary from 6:30pm – 8:30pm.

PRACTICES – PRIOR TO SCHOOL

Practices will be held Monday thru Friday at John Carroll Elementary from 6:30pm – 8:30pm.

PRACTICES – DURING SCHOOL

Practices will be held on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at John Carroll Elementary from 6:00pm – 8:00pm.

GAMES

How many games are played?
Two (2) Pre-Season Games
All teams will play eight (8) regular season games.
Each team will participate in the playoffs with an opportunity to compete for a championship.

Are games played beyond the conference championships?
Conference Champions (Cadet & above) advance to the Regional playoffs with an opportunity to compete in the National Championship in Orlando, Florida.

Where are the games played?
Home games will be played at either at John Carroll Elementary School or Thomas Pullen School. Both schools are in Landover, MD in close proximity to FedEx field. Away games with be played in the Washington Metropolitan Region.

When are the games played?
Saturdays (weekly) beginning @ 9:00am and running until mid-afternoon.

When is the first game?
Season begins Saturday, August 30th.

Will all kids play in each game?
AYF requires that each kid plays a minimum number of plays in each game, regardless of skill level.

Will the girls cheer at every game?
The cheerleaders will cheer at every game for their respective age group.

Will the girls participate in State, Regional, or National Competition?
Registration ensures that all girls will cheer through the regular season onto the championships. There will be a competition team selected that will compete in the State, Regional, and National Championships.

WHAT AGES CAN PARTICIPATE?

Flag Instructional 5-6 year old.

Players will be grouped into the following age brackets:

Note: Players shall meet the weight prescribed above plus a one-pound variance. Pee Wee and below shall be granted a 5 pound equipment allowance and Jr. Midget and above will be granted a 6 pound equipment allowance.

EQUIPMENT / UNIFORM

Tackle Football Participants: The organization will provide the following equipment for usage: Helmet, Shoulder Pads, Practice/Game Jersey, and Practice/Game Pants.

Flag Football Participants: The organization will provide game jersey and game pants.

Cheer Participants: The organization will provide usage of the Top, Skirt, and Poms. CLICK HERE to see the additional required purchases.

REQUIRED PHYSICAL

All participants are required to have a physical prior to participating. You are welcome to have a physical through your personal Physician or feel free to take advantage of the services offered by our on-site Physician. Physicals will be scheduled during the 4th week of July.

TUTORING

Tutoring takes place throughout the school year from September through June. Tutoring sessions are held at John Carroll Elementary on Wednesdays for kids in grades 3 through 8. Tutoring services is provided at no cost to participants and community residents.

REGISTRATION

Once registered, please note that your registration fee includes full usage of all practice/game uniforms and equipment. Additionally, your registration includes a fundraising fee and your kids' free admittance to the annual awards ceremony. Please note that anyone can register within the age/weight guidelines as there are no Residential or Boundary restrictions for participation.

REFUND POLICY

Full refunds can be obtained less a $75 administrative fee prior to July 25th. There will be NO REFUNDS after this date (NO EXCEPTIONS).
